Road Trip Chronicles Vol. 10: Mid Atlantic Air Museum

I don't remember where I slept after D.C., probably in another Wal*Mart, but the next day I drove to Reading, PA to visit the Mid Atlantic Air Museum. This museum was founded in the 1980's, initially for the purpose of this airplane:
A P-61 Black Widow, the third that I saw on my trip. It was recovered off the side of a mountain in Papua New Guinea, and is being restored to fly. I cant wait. (The guy in the blue hat in the bottom picture is the founder of the museum). To find out more about this Black Widow, go HERE
Scrapyard behind the museum. Pair of deHavilland DH.104 Doves, Sikorsky H-34 Choctaw, Piasecki H-21, a NAF N3N, a ton of spare P2V Neptune engines, and who knows what else in those containers.
Vultee BT-13 Valiant
Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcar (apparently this is the last flying one in the world, but it sure didn't look it)
North American B-25J Mitchell "Briefing Time"
Lockheed P2V Neptune
Custer CCW-5 Channel Wing
Douglas R4D-6, Navy version of the DC-3
Martin 4-0-4
Republic F-84B Thunderjet. The 666 buzz number on the nose certainly seemed to fit this plane. I was the only person walking around on the ramp, when all of a sudden I heard a loud BANG! A gust of wind had kicked up, and the apparently the control cables in the aircraft had been severed, so the rudder was freely slamming around. It scared the hell out of me
Eastern TBM-3 Avenger
Sikorsky HH-52 Seaguard
Vickers V745D Viscount
Cool P-61 nose art
I think this was a Rover sedan

After the MAAM, I had a nice leisurely drive towards Willow Grove, Pennsylvania to visit the next museum on my list...
