Road Trip Chronicles Vol. 13: Amherst-Canton, OH
After NYC, I drove up to Amherst, MA to my Aunt and Uncles house. I pretty much just hung out with them for three or four days. I got to see my Uncle's cubicle at Yankee Candle and see all the cool stuff that he's working on, and and all the cool stuff that they do there. I also got to eat at Antonio's, which is the greatest hole in the wall pizza joint I've ever been to. I had the BBQ Chicken Bacon Ranch, and the Steak and Bacon, which is heaven on a paper plate.
After my visit, I headed east towards New York State, and managed to avoid all of the toll roads except for about $.70 when I screwed up and took a wrong turn just across the NY/MA border.
I will say this. NY State was the most boring stretch of road during my entire trip. It was kind of nasty weather out: muggy and overcast, just depressing. And there weren't any historical markers or anything to break up the monotony, and the scenery was pretty "meh". Also, I couldn't get any cell phone reception, so I couldn't call anybody (I could recieve calls, but I couldn't call anybody). Anyways, on to the pictures:

Driving up the Mass Pike
NY State Valley
Wings Of Eagles Museum in Elmira NY, F-15 Eagle gate guard (the museum had just closed when I got there)
Glenn H. Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport NY C-46 Commando gate guard (again, the museum was closed when I got there)
The drive started to get better when I got around Hammondsport, and got alot better when I entered Ohio. I hit Cleveland around 10 or 11 at night, and then turned south for Canton. When I got to Canton, I was going to find the museum and sleep in the parking lot, but I got horribly lost and spent about 45 minutes driving around until I found a Wal*Mart.
